Zoning
Zoning Board Reality Check
Check who is on your zoning board.
Real estate company owners?
Contractors?
Developers?
And the worst of all: The same little power group
These people have only their best interests involved. Money!
We must establish selection criteria for positions on Zoning boards!! Right know it is a crony club.
But this still can occur:
We need to increase our acreage requirements and discourage
low income housing and section 8 housing that unfortunately has already arrived
on 307. There are many large plots of land that are being inherited by the next
generation. Historically the next generation divides the property up into little
parcels or sells to developers who in turn squeeze as many homes as legally
possible into the area. Then they move on and destroy the next area.
This happens right under your nose because our zoning and our zoning board
members are motivated to act in their best interests and not the townships!!!!!
Mr. Osborn ( Mentor Developer) Just purchased 300 acres on 307. He says he is using it as a hunting area. The Osborn family has more money that the entire Counties budget. Hunting for what? If I were Mr. Osborn I would be forming a strategy to relocate low income people out of Lake County and make a profit at the same time in both directions. Example:
Purchase blocks of low income run down housing in depressed areas in Lake County* (sellers)
Build alternative section 8 housing ( Austinburg)
Offer special incentives to sellers ( Painesville)
Relocate sellers into new housing (Ausinburg)
Get return on investment from sellers from both buying and selling
Win! Win! for Osborn and Lake County
New (liberal) Voters for Austinburg!
* Property in Eastern Lake County ( Painesville) is becoming very valuable because Mentor is overpopulated. The possible plan is to displace low income people out of Lake County and retain the affluent. The enemy is at the gates.
