"No Winery"

The snooty residents of Ravinewood Estates are worried that Farinacci Winery, which is across the street from their estate entrance, is going to turn into a drive-through liquor store or some such nonsense! They mobilized 30 or more residents to defeat our zoning change to allow our winery to operate under neighborhood commercial (NC). The Ashtabula Planning Commission approved all 36 acres to be rezoned from residential to NC. Ravinewood owners association went crazy when they were informed of the proposed zoning change. Everything from strip malls to shooting ranges were listed as possible alternative businesses if the winery failed as a business. When did a winery ever fail in this area?
The Trustees voted unanimously against the zoning change even though we reduced the proposed property change from 38 to 16 acres.
Ravinewood Acres is the snooty subdivision in Austinburg; therefore, they have to be treated differently from the rest of us.
Therefore, we decided to go the agricultural route without zoning involved.
Grapes have to be sprayed......you have been warned!!!
