Austinburg Writes
October 18, 2007
Hello again,
Thanks for adding to your Home Web page, That The people of Austinburg are a
friendly bunch.
I would like to comment on The Austinburg Sewer Committee. I am very happy
to have their help. Without them we would surely be screwed.
But I think they keep leaving out a very very important bit of information.
and that is the interest on those 20 year assessments. Plus the interest for
those of us who have to take out a loan for the remainder of those
additional cost..(which will be most if not all of us) that can be in the
thousands, for me its 18,000 in interest.
If people look at the last paragraph on the green sheet that was
handed out to us during the first formal town hall meeting titled Brief History
& Status, you will notice that costs are PLUS INTEREST!!
Thanks for keeping people informed on your site. :-)
A Concerned Citizen.
Where were the Trustees when the sewer
project was in its infancy! Buck's?
They are more worried about the rapid growth of B & B's along Rt. 307 and
Adult Book Stores! Looks like you should all get together and start a
collective
business to pay for these sewers. Adult Book Stores are very
profitable. LOL
After you satisfy your bank loans you just close the door.

"The Unfriendly Township/Zoning Government
Beware, outsiders are not welcome!! "
Do you really believe all of Austinburg is unfriendly.
Or are you just mad at the local government?
I think the Quote you start your web page with really puts people off.
It isn't fair to the community.
Would you Please reconsider removing it.
The local government does suck, look at the mess were in with the sewers
because they didn't do their job. But i do not condemn the township as a
whole. Most of the people here are really nice people.

Dear Mr. Farinacci,
The Austinburg Trustees really bungled this one.
As far as I know, none of the board
members have a law degree or any formal training in the area of law. I am referring
to
the stupidity of adopting a different type of health plan, without getting all
of the facts
about the laws in existence. The employees who participate in the health
care plan now
have the concern that their health issues are public record since the plan is
handled by
the township, and the Public Records Act applies to the paperwork generated.
You have to ask who benefits the most$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The major concern is that the legal council for
the board advised against handling the plan
within the township. The arrogance of this board to continue this, against
legal advice, is
inconceivable. I am not going to get into legal ramifications of this decision,
other than to
say I can only assume their legal council will have a hard time defending the
board's actions
should legal action be taken against them.
Strictly speaking about compassion, consideration
for the employees should have dissuaded
the board from adopting this policy. This action shows the board has no
consideration for
good employees, and no backbone to
admit they have made a mistake, and take whatever the
necessary steps are to correct it. Once they had legal advice against the
handling of this type
of policy, it should have been dropped. (Who benefited
from this policy the most)
Thank You,

I have been checking your website often. Good Job!
Maybe change Teddy Seifert harem to calling them
scapegoats. I think the word "harem" gives
Teddy too much power. Also, I wouldn't use any words of empowerment in
regards to Teddy.
I couldn't handle seeing his head any larger than it already is. Teddy has
a lot of people fooled
into believing that his concerns are only for the betterment of the
township. He is a wolf in sheep's
clothing. Now you are going to far!!! LOL You
mean a mouse in a monkey suit!
Matthew 7:15
Deuteronomy 5:19-21
As for the comment regarding Don Narish I should
have made that statement a bit more clear.
I believe he followed advice only in regards to believing that the
interpretation he received of a
certain zoning issue was correctly stated to him. Aaaaaa..you
mean "Parrot" talk. LOL
Thank You

I would like to respond to the person who wrote
in stating how much they enjoyed
Austinburg, but with the present board of trustees, they no longer care about
living here.
The great thing about living in this country is that we can change our
representatives when
they no longer meet our expectations or use their office for personal
gains.
The decisions this board has made are so bad that
they themselves can give no logical
reason to explain their decision. (That is
because liberals make there decisions on feelings not logic)
Their only explanation is "I wanted to" or
"it is my decision." (Children
have the very same
mindset: children make most of their decisions on feelings and the
reactions of others) Just to question a
few of their decisions; in allowing the CEI sub-station on Clay St., did they
even bother to
secure a legal opinion on the matter? Then there was the issue of the Cemetery
Sexton
and Roadman wages. The clerk received opinions from both the County
Prosecutor and
State Auditor on the legal and correct way to compensate this position.
The board chose
not to listen to the clerk and debated the issue for many months holding up the
employee's
wages as Cemetery Sextant for may months. They finally agreed to pay the
wage in
accordance with what the County prosecutor and State Auditor offices had
indicated was
legal. This board needs to control its own pride and do what is right.

The present board of trustees have demonstrated
that they have no fiscal responsibility at all.
I am concerned with the way they are spending money. Previous boards left
the township in
good financial condition at the end of there term. But the board does not
show any sign of
financial direction. In defense
of Jerry Burke: Frank and Spade are getting most of their trustee
advice from Whitmire who, in my opinion, would like to see the township in
financial ruin as
retaliation for not being re-elected in the last election. He would campaign
on saving the township.
We need to replace Frank and Spade ASAP. and not with Whitmire!!!
One must maintain equipment,
buildings and upgrades to township property. No money has been set aside
by this board for
these projects. Austinburg is a great place but I would hate to be put in
the position of not being able
to replace equipment, laying off workers or relying on tax increases which some
residents may not
be able to afford. The present board has to control their spending and
stay with projects that are
discussed and planned for at the beginning of the year.
