You have no clue!
This website is not a platform for our local government, on the contrary, it's to give us back the control where it belongs, with us the taxpayer. It has been said that this web site is negative. Yes, it does have some negative connotations. The primary reason for this is simple. They, the government, doesn't control its content. All these picture perfect city, county, township websites are just propaganda fluff. Painted falsehoods that their town is rosy perfect. Since when where you ever satisfied with everything that your government has done. That is why they are fearful of this type of website. If I were thinking of relocating to an area this web site would be a positive attribute, especially if the citizens where participating. Which they are not!!!!!!!
Question: Why
does an outsider from Wickliffe, OH care more about our Township than its lifelong
residences?
Answer:
You take the freedom of the open space and
unencumbered lifestyle for granted. You are spoiled. We on the other hand
have lived within the congestion of the city. Our decision to relocate our
company and home was based on the quality of life you think can never be
changed. Let me tell you! If you do not take stock in your Township it
will fall victim to cluttered housing (Ravinewood
Acres), congested streets, traffic jams and the
removal of personal freedoms such as:
Farming*
Hunting*
Snowmobile
Building a camp fire*
Having a pond
Privacy
Using a chainsaw*
Taking your combine down the road*
Riding your horse along the street
Sneezing
Building a storage shed*
*The above activities are not allowed
if you reside in Ravinewood Acres. Those that are interested in
purchasing a home in the postage stamp development should retain a copy of
the covenants.
On the other hand these same city folk infiltrate the township government and control the rest with their picture of how we should live. It has already started within zoning!!! I love when I am right! I told you Connie! Idiots
How it starts:
Already happening
Zoning fails to recognize that 5 acre lots command more money than 1/2 acre lots. The only people that benefit from small lots are real estate people and developers. A 5 acre lot in Willoughby Hills sells for $175,000.00+.
Developers build houses every 15 feet.
Sewers must be put in to handle the affluent.
You are forced to pay for sewer and water hook-up.
Roads are always being repaired because of the heavy truck traffic from construction.
Taxes quadruple
Have to have a police department because of the increase in crime. You support them with money from your traffic fines.
Light pollution keeps you from viewing the stars.
Traffic noise is 24hrs.
Ambulance sirens never stop!!!!!!!!!!!
Neighbors get on your nerves.
Complaints start about the smell from you farms and road patties.
Traffic lights start popping up at every intersection.
Speed limits are posted and police pray on you for funds to justify there existence.
Wildlife starts to disappear.
Song birds leave the area because of Starling and Sparrow competition.
Lights, lights and more lights!
Strip malls at every intersection.
Schools become impersonal.
Fences everywhere.
Pollution of every kind increases.
Quality of education decreases.
Walla, you been had by progress!!
On the other hand this could all be prevented by insisting that zoning increase building lot sizes to 5 acres. Why can't we be another Willoughby Hills, Waite Hills, or Kirtland. By limiting the amount of building we have just increase the cost per building lot, the quality of life and the caliber of citizen. We don't need the rife-raff that will eventually bring down our township. People will pay handsomely to live in a community that retained the solitude of the country. If you can't afford to life here then stay out.
Our biggest problem is going to be the developers. Osborn, a Mentor Developer, just purchased 300acres on St. Rt. 307. He says it is just going to be a hunting camp. He will eventually put a housing development as a repository for the people in Lake County. He will purchase tracks of valuable low income housing and displace them to Austinburg making money on the front and rear end. Don't let the greed and ignorance of a few remove the solitude and quality of life Austinburg has. Why do you think Lake County is slowly moving out here? Believe me its has nothing to do with the Ashtabula Mall or the price of gas. It is very important that we elect government officials that represent our wishes. Be watchful. Its your equity and future they play with.
The more you get involved the more positive this web site becomes.
